World Read Aloud Day (05 February 2020)
Feb 14 in News
For 11 years, World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read aloud. The global effort is now celebrated in over 173 countries and counting! An abundance of research points to how reading aloud is both beneficial and beloved.
On 5th February, EMS Khor joined in this world-wide event and held World Read Aloud Day at school. Activities for WRAD included: the continuous reading chair, students visiting other classes to read to them, and administrators and teachers reading aloud to classes other than their own. Additionally, teachers read aloud to their own classes. It was a lovely day of taking time to just read aloud and enjoy stories for pleasure. Fun and learning was had by all!
