YELLOW HOUSE VISION FOR ITS STUDENTS
Our vision in Yellow house is to build a strong sense of community among students across the different year levels.
The new house system was incorporated in order to provide an opportunity for students to have more of an input into school life and activities in general. Our hope is to instill a sense of responsibility into our students.
In short, students earn points for their houses for good behavior, special accomplishments, sporting activities and many more. Since each house includes students from every grade, it fosters a sense of community throughout the school, too.
HEAD OF HOUSE
My name is GREGORY FROSLER, but I am commonly called Greg. I am from South Africa. I have a Masters of Sciences degree. I have been teaching for 31 years of which 10 years have been at EMS. I truly love working in the school and I have always been involved in all aspects of school life and see this as the most important aspect in teaching. One has to get to know all about your students in order to serve their best interests. Building relationships with the whole school community is my main goal. I hope that through this new house system we can achieve this with our students, teachers and parents.
Our aim is to provide every pupil in each house with a sense of belonging within the school community as well as to provide opportunities to develop social, intellectual, physical and practical skills. We want to foster a sense of achievement both inside and outside of the classroom to develop the student as a whole. We want to create fun and excitement through competition as well as to provide opportunities for leadership. As well as to create an awareness of individual and collective responsibility. We are also striving to help our students to honour the principle of EMPATHY and CARING by seeking to understand and share the feelings of others in Yellow House.
